Materials for pent sheds
The materials you can choose when you browse and shop for pent sheds are wood, metal, or plastic. Narrow down your choice by ticking your material of choice in the material filter box on the left hand side of this page.
We summarise each material below:
Wood
The majority of our garden pent sheds for sale are wooden. All our wooden pent sheds are manufactured from FSC®-certified wood and are dip-treated or pressure-treated for long-term durability.
Choose finishes such as natural wood, pressure or dip treated or painted. Why not browse through our range now?
Metal
Choose our metal pent sheds for a diverse range of sizes from leading manufacturers such as Globel, Absco, and Yardmaster. Buy metal sheds for security, robustness, strength, and their low maintenance requirements. Enjoy impressive guarantees of between ten and thirty years.
Plastic
We have a relatively small number of plastic pent sheds for sale but take a look as you might find a perfect option for you. Plastic sheds complement the contemporary look and feel of pent sheds. Requiring minimal maintenance, plastic is a low-cost option and one which will not crack or fade in the years to come.
What are pent roof sheds?
Merriam Webster Dictionary defines pent roof sheds as “a shed with a roof sloping one way only”. Pent roof sheds are flat and only have one slope, they are also often alternatively known as flat roof sheds or mono-pitched sheds.
In the vast majority of cases, the highest point of the slope of the roof is above the entrance door, with the roof sloping down to allow rainwater to escape.
Are garden pent sheds considered to be contemporary?
Even though pent roof sheds are known to have originated centuries ago, they are considered by furniture retailers and design specialists to be “contemporary” or “modern” in design. This is primarily due to their sleek lines.
Generally, Apex sheds are considered to be “traditional” or “classic” in style. Of course, it is each customer whose views matter and “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”. So, buy what appeals to you, first and foremost, whilst understanding that buying a pent shed is considered to be a contemporary style of shed.
What are the advantages of pent sheds?
Here are some benefits to consider when considering buying garden pent sheds:
- Compactness – they are ideal for smaller gardens. They can easily be situated under a tree or up against a wall or fence. With Apex roofs requiring more height they are less compact
- Contemporary/modern – as we said previously, a pent shed is contemporary and modern in style. This is an advantage if this is your preference
- Drainage – the pent roof is sloped and specifically designed to drain off rainwater
- Walk-in access – as the tallest section is at the front of a pent shed, it provides ease of walk-in access
What are the most popular sizes?
Shedstore has over twenty five different sizes of pent sheds for sale. The most popular sizes though are 6' x 4', 7' x 5', 8' x 6', 10' x 6', 10' x 8', and 12' x 8'. This illustrates that we stock pent roof sheds ranging from small sheds all the way up to large sheds. There is no need to visit a local “near me” supplier, we are entirely online but are very likely to have a wider selection.
Is it possible to buy a shed with a floor included?
Yes, you can buy a shed with floor included, especially in the pent roof shed range. Many models such as the Forest Garden 6'x4' Overlap Pressure Treated Pent Wooden Shed come with a floor included as standard. Having a built-in floor is a big plus for keeping your shed dry and stable, especially for sheds with a pent roof where the water runs to the back. These floors are often pressure treated for extra protection against rot and dampness. Most pent sheds at Shedstore have this feature but always check the product details to make sure a floor is included.
