Our range of log stores and outdoor log storage sheds (sometimes referred to as ‘log sheds’) are all manufactured by Forest Garden. Due to their heavy duty usage, they are all pressure treated and come with a fifteen to twenty five year guarantee included in the price. Made from PEFC or FSC®-certified wood, our wooden log stores are available in a compact 3’x2’ or a more spacious 7'x3' log size.
What is an outdoor log stores?
To increase the efficiency of your firewood you need to ensure that it is as dry as possible. If not a lot of the energy will be wasted evaporating the moisture, rather than heating your home. Whether you have pre-dried kiln logs or freshly sawn logs, a log store is a safe place. Kiln logs are pre-seasoned to remove sap and water content and are ready to burn. Fresh logs need time in the log store to dry off sap and moisture before burning.

Why do outdoor log stores not have doors?
It is a design feature that outdoor log stores have an open front, but maybe not for the reasons you might think. An open front is needed to help dry the sap in the firewood. The logs need air to flow through to dry them out.
It sounds counter-intuitive to leave them out in the open exposed to rain and snow to dry them out. The reason though is to dry off sap. Timber is a natural material that easily manages water and if left covered, the firewood will not dry properly.
Can they be used as an attractive garden feature?
