What sizes are your large greenhouses?

Our large greenhouses range from 6’x8’ up to 12’x10’ in size with our most popular size being 10’x6’.

Does Shedstore sell large walk in greenhouses?

Yes, we do! These are the ultimate in convenience and as the name suggests, they enable the greenhouse owner to “literally” walk into the greenhouse. Our large walk in greenhouses start from 6’ high, this is not enough for owners who are over 6’ in height! We generally, therefore, recommend ordering from our 8’+ high large walk in greenhouses as a minimum.

Materials Available

As with all our greenhouse size ranges, we supply our large greenhouses in three main material types, namely plastic (polycarbonate), metal (usually aluminium), and wood. We discuss each of these below.

Large plastic greenhouses

Manufactured by Halls and Palram Canopia, the frame for our large plastic greenhouses is mainly aluminium, with the entry door and roof panels being polycarbonate. Choose polycarbonate as a material for clarity of vision, insulation strength, impact resistance and its low price when buying your large greenhouse.

It sounds almost unbelievable, but polycarbonate is 250x stronger than glass! Often, therefore, used for safety reasons, polycarbonate will not shatter (like glass does!)

Metal & Aluminium-framed large greenhouses

Also sometimes called metal greenhouses, aluminium-framed greenhouses provide superb strength levels and durability. A great choice when considering the range of large greenhouses for sale, these are built to last by our chosen manufacturers Halls and Palram Canopia. It’s important to note that aluminium greenhouses cost more than polycarbonate. Due to aluminium being lightweight on its own, typically, a galvanised steel base is added. This significantly increases the weight and provides a solid foundation for the greenhouse and secures it in extreme weather conditions.

Large wooden greenhouses

Buy wooden greenhouses as an attractive and useful feature in any garden with our top-quality greenhouses manufactured by Forest Garden or Mercia. Renowned for their traditional or classic style, we also have a range of large greenhouses in contemporary wooden designs. All the features you expect like double doors and apex roofing apply to these large walk in greenhouses.

Cladding is either standard tongue and groove cladding or shiplap tongue and groove cladding, which adds style, strength, and protection. Choose from dip treated or pressure treated timber with a manufacturer’s guarantee of between ten to fifteen years, all included in the price. Unlike large metal or large plastic greenhouses, our large wooden greenhouses are much easier to customise through a "handy" owner or employing a Carpenter.

Do you sell smaller-sized greenhouses?

Are large lean to greenhouses available?

Yes! We have a number of lean to greenhouses for sale. Lean to models rest nicely against walls, fencing and other garden buildings. They are a significant space saver and often cost less as one side is a building, meaning fewer materials are needed in manufacturing.
