Traditional wooden sheds
Traditional sheds are known for their attention to detail when it comes to the quality of the shiplap tongue and groove cladding and the precise nature of the finishing. This allows them to be supplied with a solid 1 year guarantee which can be upgraded to an impressive 15 year guarantee when you choose to have your wood pressure treated. Traditional garden rooms and Traditional summer houses are also crafted to the same exacting standards, giving you the freedom to choose real quality.
Roofing styles
Another great reason to choose Traditional wooden sheds is that they typically feature a pent or apex roofing style, allowing you to add a charming piece to the family garden.
Sizes
Sizes range from 5’x3’ to 20’x12’ providing ample choice, while mid-size options like the Traditional 7'x7' wooden shed are amongst the most popular. This makes it quick and easy to find the perfect footprint for your needs, all while enjoying the uncompromising quality that is the hallmark of the Traditional brand.
Styles
Look a little closer at their range and you will see a range of styles, such as Dutch barn, tool sheds, Traditional potting sheds and security sheds to name just a few. They have also expanded to offer Traditional playhouses that are a charming addition to the family garden when you want to make it a welcoming space for all ages.
Dip treated
Professional dip treating ensures that the wood is thoroughly dry and less likely to take on moisture, both from the air and the ground. This extends the lifetime of the shed and when combined with the shiplap construction results in a structure that is built to last. Ideal when you want to be able to make an investment that is worth it. There is an option to upgrade to pressure treated wood, which provides even more protection and also increases the guarantee length to fifteen years.
Can I choose the door position?
Where your shed door is positioned on your Traditional garden building will vary depending on the model of building you choose. Some shed styles offer a choice of door positions from the drop-down menu, and at an additional cost, you can place the shed door wherever you want. In the case of the 10’x8’ Traditional Heavy-Duty Shiplap Pent Wooden Shed, the door can be attached in the following locations:
- Front left door
- Left side door
- Front centre door
- Front right door
- Right side door
Can I customise Traditional sheds?

Traditional garden rooms and summer houses
Traditional sheds are only the start of the range you will find here at Shedstore with options like Traditional garden rooms becoming increasingly popular. Take a look at this stylish summer house with a porch and imagine sitting back late into the evening and enjoying a few drinks after the kids have gone to bed.
Something as simple as being able to add a feature that works in spring and summer allows you to get more use out of your outdoor space than ever before. You could even consider working in Traditional summer houses as a garden office in the afternoons if you have the flexibility to log in remotely from time to time.
Traditional playhouses
Traditional garden rooms are beautifully matched by a range of charming playhouses, log cabins and potting sheds. Let us focus on the little people for now.
Matching a charming little playhouse to one of our garden arches will turn the garden into something of a wonderland that your kids will remember for the rest of their lives. The delightful two-storey design features an internal ladder and has windows on both storeys so the light can flow in. Perfect for bringing a whole new world of make-believe to life in a way that will make memories that never fade.
Upgrade options
While you can fill your Traditional log cabins and Traditional sheds with anything you wish, there is also a whole host of upgrade options for their other structures. Summer houses and playhouses can be upgraded to add any of the following:
- A heavy-duty floor - that withstands hours of high-energy play
- Plastic shed base kit - that helps further weatherproof the design
- Pressure-treated wood – extend the guarantee to 15 years when upgrading from dip treated to pressure treated wood
- Wooden floor bearers - for added support and reinforcement
Do Traditional garden buildings need retreating?
Traditional outdoor garden buildings are dip-treated as standard and carry a 12-month warranty. These Traditional (brand name) buildings need treating within 6 weeks of assembly and annual retreating thereafter unless you upgrade your timber option to pressure treated wood. The difference between dip treated and pressure treated wood is the length of time and intensity of the preservation treatment given to the product in the factory. You can add more treatments to your Traditional shed if you want to, but once your building is made from pressure treated timber, you probably do not need to.
