This is a process of impregnating wood with a preservative through a process called “pressure treatment”. During the pressure treatment process, wood is submerged within the preservative under tremendous pressure. This leads to the wood being penetrated by the preservative.
Essentially the reason behind manufacturing pressure treated fence panels is all about wood preservation. Pressure treatment protects against decay, fungus, and rotting. Once pressure treated, wood also no longer requires annual treatment.
Pressure treatment also repels insects and so protects wood from damage by insects such as carpenter ants, termites, and woodworm. All our fence panels are manufactured by Forest Garden and due to their pressure treatment are supplied with a fifteen year guarantee, included within the price.
All of our fence panel products are PEFC or FSC®-certified and are from sustainable, well-managed forests.
Our pressure treated fence panels are available in the following four sizes, 6’x3’, 6’x4’, 6’x5’ and 6’x6’. These are all 6’ wide and you can choose to buy between 3’ to 6’ in height.
You can also accompany your fence panels purchase with matching buy fence posts and gravel boards.
Panels are available in both contemporary and traditional designs. We also sell picket fences, which provide excellent garden sectioning and see-through capability (rather than solid wood panels). Also, browse and shop from a range of decorative fence panels. These include various decorations including horizontal weave, slated toppers, and trellising.
Choose from a diverse range of cladding styles including:
There are various uses in the garden for these panels including as a low-level boundary, to create an effective partition within the garden, or mounted on top of a wall.
Many websites say they are exactly the same, but there is a subtle difference. Tanalised fence panels have similarly completed a pressure treatment process, but critically have been treated with Tanalith, this is a trademarked timber preservative. Due to its cost, many manufacturers use different but equally effective chemicals to Tanalith. This means most manufacturers (including Forest Garden) do not describe their products as tanalised fence panels, but instead call them pressure treated fence panels.
