Brands available

Palmako

Our wooden garages manufactured by Palmako all have a 5 year guarantee within the cost. These garages are delivered untreated, so require anti-rot and anti-fungal treatment immediately and then annually.

Palmako timber garages feature a felt roof or gable roof and up and over or double garage doors. In some models the storage area is separated from the garage space, providing a dual-purpose building. These log cabin style models also come with a front door and beautiful porch to shelter you when accessing the garage. The porch area also provides a nice addition to provide some temporary shelter to cover items from the rain and sun.

The garages are either classic-style garages made from Nordic spruce or log cabin style made with 44mm interlocking logs.

Traditional

Our wooden garages manufactured by Traditional come as standard with a 1 year guarantee for dip treated or 15 years when paying the extra cost to upgrade to pressure treated. They all have tongue and groove cladding and a felt roof.

Timber garage options and specifications

Below provides a summary of the features, options and specifications you can expect to find across our range of timber garages for sale. Before buying a car garage, please check each one carefully to make sure it meets your needs, requirements and personal preferences:

  • Sizes: Various dimensions ranging from smaller sizes (e.g., 14' x 10' or 4.28m x 3.05m) to larger sizes (e.g., 20' x 12' or 6.10m x 3.66m)
  • Cladding Styles: The cladding styles include Interlocking logs, Shiplap, and Tongue and Groove.
  • Garage Door Types: The door types include Double Doors or Up and Over Doors for car access.
  • Window Options: The garages can come with no windows, or with one or more windows. The windows can be fixed or opening, and can be fitted on either side of the building. Single and framed double glazed window options available.
  • Treatment: Untreated or Dip Treated options, with Pressure Treated upgrades providing anti-rot and anti-fungal qualities deep inside the wood, ensuring it can last a lifetime with proper care.
  • Guarantee: Guarantees range from 1 year up to 15 years, depending on the treatment of the wood.
  • Lead Times: The lead time for delivery can range from 2–3 weeks up to 6-8 weeks, depending on the model.
  • Personal Access: Options for a single personal access door to the rear, front or side of the garage, with some Palmako models providing a sheltered porch area.
  • Optional Upgrades: Some models offer upgrades, such as Installation, Roofing (SBS Torch On Felt, Charcoal Felt Shingles, Roof Underlay Felt), Rain Guttering, Log Cabin Canopy Roof, Opening Windows, Base Kit, Log Cabin Preserver

As well as above, below provides an overview of the standard specifications of our timber car garages:

  • Roof Styles: All timber garages come with an Apex roof.
  • Frame: The framing size for all buildings is 44mm.
  • Roof Thickness: The roof thickness is 19 mm / 0.75 inch.
  • Customisation: All garages can be customised later to have multi-functional use through carpentry and basic DIY skills. If you decide later that you no longer need a car garage you could use it instead for other purposes such as storage.
  • Locking System: All doors are lockable, ensuring the security of the items inside.
  • Insulation: Wooden garages are natural insulators, which is especially important if you intend to use your garage for other purposes.

What are the advantages of wooden garages?

Here are some advantages to consider:

  • Customisable – through carpentry the timber garage can be customised later. This is much easier to achieve than with a metal garage. In addition, if an area becomes damaged or rotten (this will not happen if annually treated), this area can easily be replaced at an economical price
  • Insulation – wooden garages are natural insulators; this is especially important if you later intend to use your garage for other purposes
  • Multi-functional – wooden garages have multi-functional use. If you decide later that you no longer need a car garage you could use it instead for other purposes such as storage
  • Sturdy – wood is a natural and incredibly strong material
  • Stylish – wooden car garages are traditional/classic in style. Many garden owners choose wood for this reason

What maintenance is required on a wooden car garage?

The standard maintenance required is treating the timber annually with wood preservatives, such as "Shed & Fence Treatment", which we sell in 5L tubs – dark brown and harvest gold. Apart from treatment, we would also advise wiping the wooden car garage down occasionally to clear it from dirt, grease, slime, and other contaminants.

We would always recommend opting for the pressure treated upgrades on wooden car garages wherever possible, these have anti-rot and anti-fungal qualities deep inside the wood and in many cases mean you can enjoy your wooden garage for an entire lifetime.

How long will a timber garage last?

Provided that your timber garage is treated annually we would expect the garage to last at least fifteen years. A pressure treated shed could easily last a lifetime.

Other than wood garages what other types do you sell?

As well as wood garages, we also sell a  wide range of metal garages. We also have specialist garages for sale, such as motorbike garages and carports for those who would prefer to add a lean to or free standing shelter rather than a wooden car garage.
