Premium Log Cabin Construction
This log cabin/ summerhouse is manufactured from 44mm slow-grown Nordic spruce logs with a tongue and groove chalet-cut design, so is incredibly strong, exceptionally long lasting, and far easier to assemble than most log cabins. With its tight, interlocking build and added wind braces, this chalet-cut tongue and groove design also ensures unbeatable weatherproof protection.
Floor and Roof
The floor and roof are both constructed from 19mm tongue and groove. The floor is supported by pressure-treated foundation joists, which improve air flow and protect against rot-causing ground moisture in this key area. The roof features a traditional apex design but does not include a covering as standard. We recommend buying SBS or Charcoal Felt Shingles with Roof Underlay Felt as an optional extra.
(SBS is a thick, torch-on weatherproof felt with a very long lifespan. Installation should only be carried out by those with advanced DIY skills or a professional installer.
Weatherproof Charcoal Felt Roof Shingles are attractive, easy to fit and will last for years.
The Roof Underlay Felt is simple to nail on to the garden building but should only be used as a temporary roof covering or as an underlay to the Charcoal Felt Shingles.)
Doors and Windows
The double doors are fitted with toughened double glazing and benefit from a laminated frame, which provides resistance to the warping and cracking associated with changes in temperature. Rubber seals improve insulation, while a stainless-steel door sill protects the wood in this high-traffic area. The door is also fitted with a key-operated cylinder lock to keep expensive items secure.
Also made from toughened double glazing, with a laminated frame and rubber seals, the 5 large, opening windows provide an abundance of natural light and ventilation. They open via a tilt and turn mechanism and include guttering. Sliding louvre shutters provide additional shade or privacy, if desired.
Treatment and Guarantee
Supplied with fixings, installation instructions and a 5-year parts guarantee, this garden building comes untreated. An anti-fungal treatment should be applied upon assembly, and annually thereafter, to protect the timber and support the guarantee. Paint can be applied to customise the log cabin, if desired.
