Description

The Forest Melbury 4m x 3m Log Cabin – Single Glazed is beautifully designed. Completed to a high specification throughout, it enjoys all the features needed to make a fantastic garden office, garden studio or family living space.

With 34mm interlocking, kiln-dried log walls, this garden log cabin is both strong and weather-resistant. The premium 19mm tongue and groove floor will withstand years of footfall and is perfectly suited to storing heavier items. The 19mm tongue and groove roof has a modern pent style, which is both smart and unobtrusive. The cabin features Forest’s Premium Felt which has twice the tear-resistance of standard felt and – with a 15 year life expectancy – will last three times as long.

With regards to the roof felt, 3 options are available:

  1. Premium Felt with a life expectancy of 15 years, supplied as standard
  2. Premium Felt plus Underlay
  3. An optional upgrade to Superior Felt which has three times the tear-resistance of standard felt and a fantastic 20-30 year life expectancy PLUS free underlay

It is advisable to upgrade to one of the options including underlay for extra weatherproof protection. Please note that the double glazed model of the Melbury includes premium felt AND underlay as standard.

This garden cabin includes 10m² of internal floor space (108ft²), which ensures plenty of room for shelves and furniture. Access is gained via glazed double doors, fitted with toughened glass and a key-operated lock to keep stored items and expensive equipment safe.

There are 2 additional 3/4-length, fixed windows either side of the doors, as well as a smaller window which can be positioned on either side of the structure. The main windows use a tilt and turn mechanism, allowing side or top opening, and can be positioned either side of the log cabin. With this number of windows, the interior benefits from an abundance of natural light. This model has single glazing throughout. A double glazed model of the Melbury, for increased sound and heat insulation, is also available

All of the timber used to build this log cabin is FSC®-certified, so only sourced from sustainable, well-managed forests. Please note that the garden cabin MUST be assembled on a solid, level surface, for example poured concrete, and is delivered untreated so MUST be coated in a solvent-based preservative upon assembly. An installation service is available as an optional upgrade.

All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site. The final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles.

Log Cabin Installation

 

Forest Log Cabin & Garden Office Installation

 

Forest Garden provide their own expert fitters to install your log cabin. With dedicated experience installing Forest Log Cabins, they will provide a professional service that is second to none. They aim to carry out installation within 10 working days of the delivery of the log cabin and it is usually quicker than this estimate.

 

After your order, Forest Garden will send you a detailed document covering the requirements of a suitable base for a log cabin.

 

Forest Garden do not provide a service for the preparation of the base area or for installation of electrics, wi-fi, solar lighting or plastic bases. If you require assistance with these, we recommend the use of Checkatrade.com for locating a reputable tradesperson in your area. Solar lighting packs are designed to be easy DIY assembly.

 

If you choose to install the log cabin yourself, you can use the detailed guide which includes step by step images to help you. Forest Garden also have a Technical Helpline if you have any questions along the way.

 

If you are using an independent tradesperson to install your log cabin, please allow enough time for the log cabin to be delivered and the parts inspected before booking your tradesperson.

Your delivery will be made between 8am and 6pm on your pre arranged delivery date; our delivery team will contact you to book via phone.

Our service is a Kerb side pallet drop delivery by a crane off-load vehicle. Unfortunately we will not be able to unpack your log cabin and take your goods to the back of the property. We typically plan to deliver to the front garden or drive.

Log cabins are delivered in two packages, flat packed, direct to your home and supplied with a comprehensive set of instructions to help you get started.
