A Premium Chicken Coop

This chicken house/ chicken pen is made in the UK from 12mm tongue and groove cladding, on a combination of 45mm x 45mm and 45mm x 28mm framing, so is strong, long lasting and completely weathertight. Pressure treated and supplied with an excellent 10-year anti-rot guarantee, no further treatment is required, saving both time and money.

The wood used to build this large chicken coop is FSC® certified too, so is sourced from sustainable, well-managed forests. Rounded off with a lovely smooth-planed finish, this chicken coop for sale really is premium, in every sense of the word.

Floor and Roof

The floor is constructed from 12mm plywood, which is ultra-tough and very easy to clean.

The reverse apex roof is made from 12mm tongue and groove, with an 18mm top board, for superb weatherproof protection.

The Chicken Run

The chickens can move between the nesting area and chicken run thanks to a lift-up interior door and walkway. Made from wire mesh with a wooden frame, the chicken run provides plenty of room for exercise.

This chicken pen features 2 large exterior doors – 1 for the coop and 1 for the chicken run, both of which are fitted with turn buttons to keep them firmly in place.

Why Choose a Forest Hedgerow Raised Large Chicken Coop?

TREATMENT

Pressure treatment forces preservative deep inside the wood. The result is long-lasting protection against rot and fungal decay. Supplied with an impressive 10-year guarantee.

CLADDING

12mm tongue and groove cladding, on sturdy 45 x 45mm and 45 x 28mm frames. Rounded off with a sumptuous smooth-planed finish, it offers your chickens an attractive, robust, weathertight home.

FLOOR

The floor is made from 12mm plywood, which is exceptionally hardwearing and easy to clean.

TWO-TIER DESIGN

Ideal for homing up to 6 chickens, this wooden raised chicken coop offers a two-tier design. The nesting area is raised with a large access door on the side. Underneath, the run is made from wire mesh, with a wooden frame provides the chickens plenty of room to exercise.

LIFT-UP DOOR

A lift-up door, operated by rope, leads from the nesting area to a wooden ramp, which takes your chickens straight onto the chicken run.

EASY ACCESS LIFT-UP ROOF

The easy access lift-up roof/doors allow access to both the coop and run. Both are fitted with turn buttons to keep them firmly in place.

Pressure Treatment Process Explained

The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.

This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your chicken coop, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your chicken coop blends easily within your garden.

VACUUM

Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.

FLOODED

Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.

PRESSURE

Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.

VACUUM

Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.

DRY

Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.

From The Supplier: Forest Garden

"We're proud to be the largest and most trusted manufacturer and distributor of garden timber products in the UK" - Forest Garden

Making British Gardens Great

At Forest, we know a fair bit about fences. And sheds for that matter. In fact, we've been one of the UK's most trusted manufacturer and distributor of quality wooden garden products for over 50 years.

With two sawmills in the UK processing locally-sourced timber, and a Head Office in Hartlebury, Worcestershire, you’ll find our range of garden buildings, fencing, decking and decorative structures for sale across many sites online and in over 3,000 retail stores. From the forest to the doorstep, we are involved every step of the way to ensure we bring you the best product and service.

Well made in Britain

The majority of the timber we use is grown and felled from managed UK forests across Scotland and Wales. After felling, the timber is cut and processed in one of our nearby sawmills and taken to our manufacturing operation in the heart of Britain. It is here our skilled workforce proudly produce the widest range of garden buildings, fencing and structures available in the UK.

All of the products that we sell are dispatched from this site. The final part of their journey is managed by our dedicated delivery department who are responsible for distribution direct to customers' homes by our fleet of vehicles.

Home Grown

We're proud to say that the majority of the timber we use is cut in our very own sawmill from trees grown in the UK.

Not only that, but our range is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council and the majority of our products carry the FSC logo - so you know that our timber is ethically sourced from well-managed, sustainable forests that are replanted for future generations.
