Description
The Windowless 7x5 Shed is a pressure-treated, overlap apex shed which is part of The Better Shed Range from Forest Garden. This premium wooden shed features a clever modular design, which makes for easier assembly and a stronger garden storage shed.
Expertly designed and built by one of the UK's leading shed manufacturers, The Better Shed's intelligent modular design means it is delivered in smaller sections, making it far easier to assemble than other garden sheds. This modular design also results in more extensive 28mm shed framing, ensuring an incredibly robust structure and far greater resistance to warping.
The walls are constructed from 7mm overlap cladding, which allows the natural movement of the timber throughout the changing seasons and aids efficient rainwater run-off. Wherever the panels join together, cover strips are used to ensure the structure remains completely weathertight. Pressure-treated and backed by a fantastic 15-year anti-rot guarantee, no further treatment is required, saving both time and money.
A 14mm pressure-treated solid timber floor with bearers not only provides a long-lasting, effective barrier against ground moisture, it allows for the storage of heavier tools and machinery too. The 8mm OSB apex roof comes with a felt covering.
Access to the shed is gained via a single door, which can be hung with a left or right-hand opening, to suit the garden's orientation, and includes double-Z framing to prevent the door from dropping. Tamper-proof hidden hinges and a hasp and staple plate, designed for a padlock (padlock not included), help keep stored items safe, while the windowless design acts as an additional security measure. Once inside, high eaves offer plenty of headroom and make it easy to store taller items.
All of the timber is FSC®-certified, which is the only wood certification scheme endorsed by the major environmental charities. Not only robust, weatherproof and ethical, this garden shed's traditional design, smooth-planed barge boards and finial result in an incredibly attractive appearance.
Fixtures, fittings and clear instructions are included for a simple assembly, although a professional installation service is available to purchase as an optional upgrade. A pressure-treated shed base can be purchased as an optional extras, as can a lean-to kit for extra sheltered storage space.

Shed Base Options
Wooden Shed Base Kit
As an alternative to laying slabs or concrete, this shed base is a faster, more cost effective DIY solution.
The wooden shed base consists of a framework that is made from UC4 incised timber which has been pressure treated. The pressure treatment ensures that the framework is robust and is guaranteed to resist rot for an impressive 15 years.
Size of base: 7.5cm (h) x 212.1cm (w) x 147.1cm (d)
Plastic Shed Base Kit
Quick and simple to install, the 7x5 plastic shed base kit is ideal for avoiding the hassle of laying slabs or concrete when preparing a base for a new shed. Its interlocking design makes it easy to put together and, though lightweight, it provides a very strong and durable base for the shed. Made from 100% recycled plastic, this shed base is eco-friendly. Also, it can be reused if the shed is repositioned. The base allows for ventilation and drainage under the shed, helping to keep the shed floor dry.
To install the base, simply interlock the square grids together and lay onto a firm, level area of ground. We recommend using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square is 500 x 500 x 40mm. This pack contains 15 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane.
Please be advised that we do not assemble plastic shed bases as part of our installation service. You must prepare the base yourself in advance of the installers' visit.
Do you need a Better Shed?
Forest Garden are proud to introduce their latest innovation: The Better Shed. With three ranges - Overlap Dip Treated, Overlap Pressure Treated and Shiplap Dip Treated - offering choices of treatment and construction, you can configure a shed that suits you and your garden. All boast a timber floor, 15% more framing and are easier to build. Whichever you choose, you can be sure you've chosen The Better Shed.

Why choose a Forest Overlap Pressure Treated Shed?
If you're looking to purchase a new shed and can afford a slightly higher initial spend, buying a pressure treated shed will save you a lot of time and money in the long term.
Forest branded pressure treated sheds have a number of features to ensure maximum durability and strength including boarded wooden floors, security door hinges, extra framing and so much more.

The best overlap sheds we've ever made
FLEXIBILE WINDOWS
Same size panels are interchangeable - you can choose the window placement to suit your garden allowing flexibility for your garden design.
FLEXIBLE DOORS
Doors can be positioned to the left or right of the shed. Single doors can be hung to be left- or right-hand opening.
Pressure treatment forces preservative deep inside the timber. The result is long-lasting protection against rot and fungal decay. There is no need to re-treat EVER, saving an estimated £200 in time and treatment costs compared to dip treated sheds.
Strong 14mm boarded timber floor. This wooden floor is built to withstand storage of heavier items as well as years of footfall. The floor is further strengthened by pressure treated bearers. A timber floor is far superior to the OSB that comes with standard sheds.
The design of our sheds features more extensive framing than standard sheds. This results in a more robust build. Larger apex models also feature a metal truss bracket that adds further strength to the roof and ensures best alignment.
Straight edge overlap cladding provides consistency and strength as well as providing the traditional style we all know and love. The high-quality cladding means the panels are less likely to warp or develop gaps.
Our windows are glazed with shatterproof PET glazing, made from recycled materials, which will not yellow or become brittle over time. PET is more robust than the styrene used in standard sheds.
Our doors feature double Z bracing for extra strength, security and to prevent the doors dropping. This is superior to the basic ledge bracing on standard sheds. Our doors are also fitted with hidden security hinges and a padlock-ready hasp and staple.

Comes with a 15 year anti-rot guarantee.

Pressure Treatment. No need for annual retreatment.

Smaller sections make transportation and handling easy.

Quick and easy construction.
Pressure Treatment Process Explained
The Pressure Treatment process for timber has been applied to products for a number of years; the key benefit of this process is that the preservative is forced under vacuum pressure right deep into the heart of the wood and the grain structure. The preservative becomes an integral part of the wood; giving a long life and protection against rot.
This process also means that you never have to apply preservatives to your garden shed, and it allows the natural colours of the timber to show through and so your shed blends easily within your garden. Surprisingly, our Pressure Treated Sheds are only slightly more expensive than our Dip Treated Sheds.

Timber is loaded into chamber and a vacuum empties timber cells of air.

Cylinder is flooded under vacuum with preservative.

Preservative is forced deep into timber using hydraulic pressure.

Another vacuum extracts excess preservative.

Timber draws in surface excess of preservative under low pressure, then is left to dry.
NO NEED TO RE-TREAT - SAVING YOU TIME AND MONEY!
