Description

With its clever modular design and top-quality build, the Forest 7' x 5' Shiplap Dip Treated Double Door Apex Wooden Shed (2.32m x 1.54m) offers strong, long-lasting and incredibly versatile garden storage for tools and bikes.

This garden shed is part of a comprehensive range of sheds, expertly designed and built by one of the UK’s leading shed manufacturers, Forest Garden. Its intelligent modular design means it is delivered in smaller sections, making it far easier to assemble than other wooden sheds. This modular design also means more extensive 28mm shed framing, resulting in an exceptionally robust structure and greater resistance to warping.

The shed walls are constructed from premium kiln-dried, smooth-planed 12mm shiplap cladding, ensuring fantastic weatherproof protection and an incredibly attractive appearance. Where the panels join together, cover strips are used to ensure the structure remains weathertight.

A thick 14mm pressure-treated timber boarded floor with pressure-treated bearers not only provides a long-lasting, effective barrier against ground moisture, it allows for the storage of heavier tools and machinery too. A timber floor is far superior to standard OSB flooring as it is more durable, more attractive and won’t sag.

The apex roof contributes towards the shed’s smart, traditional appearance and ensures effective rainwater runoff. Made from 8mm OSB, the roof is supplied with green mineral felt which is stronger and more attractive than standard black sand felt.

Access to this 7x5 shed is gained via wide double doors, which feature double-Z framing to prevent the door from dropping. Tamper-proof hidden hinges and a hasp and staple plate, designed for a padlock (padlock not included), help keep stored items safe.

Once inside the shed, a PET-glazed window allows for natural light. It is made from recycled materials, virtually shatterproof and will never discolour or become brittle. It can be positioned on either side of the shed.

All of the timber is FSC®-certified, so only sourced from sustainable, well-managed forests. Fixtures, fittings and clear instructions are included for a simple assembly, although a professional installation service is available to buy as an optional upgrade. A pressure-treated shed base or convenient plastic shed base can be purchased as an optional extra too.

This wooden shed is supplied dip-treated and should be coated in a quality wood preservative annually, in order to maintain its handsome appearance and validate the excellent 10-year anti-rot guarantee.

Delivery is free to most UK addresses.

Shed Base Options

Wooden Shed Base

Wooden Shed Base Kit

As an alternative to laying slabs or concrete, this shed base is a faster, more cost effective DIY solution.

The wooden shed base consists of a framework that is made from UC4 incised timber which has been pressure treated. The pressure treatment ensures that the framework is robust and is guaranteed to resist rot for an impressive 15 years.

Size of base: 7.5cm (h) x 212.1cm (w) x 147.1cm (d)

Plastic Shed Base

Plastic Shed Base Kit

Quick and simple to install, the 7x5 plastic shed base kit is ideal for avoiding the hassle of laying slabs or concrete when preparing a base for a new shed. Its interlocking design makes it easy to put together and, though lightweight, it provides a very strong and durable base for the shed. Made from 100% recycled plastic, this shed base is eco-friendly. Also, it can be reused if the shed is repositioned. The base allows for ventilation and drainage under the shed, helping to keep the shed floor dry.

To install the base, simply interlock the square grids together and lay onto a firm, level area of ground. We recommend using 15kg of 10mm pea gravel per square (gravel not included). Each square is 500 x 500 x 40mm. This pack contains 15 squares and heavy-duty, commercially-graded weed membrane.

Please be advised that we do not assemble plastic shed bases as part of our installation service. You must prepare the base yourself in advance of the installers' visit.

  • floor

  • extra strength

The design of our sheds features more extensive framing than standard sheds. This results in a more robust build. Larger apex models also feature a metal truss bracket that adds further strength to the roof and ensures best alignment.

Smaller sections make transportation and handling easy.

Quick and easy construction.

Dip Treatment Process Explained

Dip treatment is a tried and tested method of applying wood preservative to timber products, and the process is fairly straightforward. First, the timber is dipped into a cylinder containing a powerful wood preservative. The preservative is then absorbed into the surface of the timber and, after it’s removed and left to dry, it will be thoroughly protected it against both rot and fungal decay.

After the dip treatment process is completed, the timber will have a lovely orangey-brown hue, ensuring it will become an attractive feature of your garden, as well as complementing most fence panels. Of course, you can choose to stain your dip treated shed another colour upon assembly. If you’re interested in an affordable, practical, and sturdy dip treated shed, why not take a look at our featured products below?
