| Who are we? Shedstore is a trading division of Guardian Buildings, a leading UK retailer of garden sheds, garden buildings and associated products. Guardian Buildings is a debt-free, established, leading national retailer, that was formed as a partnership in 1997. The three founding partners have worked together for over twenty five years within the UK garden building and fencing sectors. What do we sell? Despite the temptation to retail a multitude of garden-based products, we're a specialist garden building retailer, therefore we retail garden buildings and structures of which include; garden sheds, storage units, summerhouses, log cabins, home offices, greenhouses, children's playhouses, pet houses and arbours. We also retail small ranges of outdoor seating, play equipment, preservatives and accessories. The products we retail are offered in many styles and materials. For example, we retail shed ranges of timber, metal and plastic construction. To provide the best packages possible, we offer free UK Mainland delivery matched with our discount structure (all products are typically sold at less than the manufacturers suggested retail pricing). Whilst you can order securely from this web site, for your convenience we also accept orders by mail, fax, email or by telephone. History Guardian Buildings was formed as a partnership in 1997. From 1997 the company traded as a traditional garden building retailer by displaying, supplying and installing garden buildings from a yard-based premises in Berkshire. During 2000, the company relocated to an industrial unit and yard in Oxfordshire. At that time, we decided to extend our sales area to cover the UK Mainland, therefore to increase our profile a brochure-based website was launched, of which was quickly followed in the same year by our first e-commerce web site; http://www.guardian-buildings.co.uk. This first store, backed by our commitment to service, discount pricing methods and the support of some of the UK's leading garden building manufacturers, enabled us to experience considerable growth and success from 2000 to date. Our first fully 'Shedstore' branded web site was launched back in early 2003, as a key step towards the long-term development of our company. To back our commitment to the Shedstore brand, the Shedstore name and logo are now ® Registered Trademarks in a variety of formats. 2005 Closed having seen several major changes for the better, including our relocation to larger Reading-based head office premises, along with the December launch of this new and improved version of the existing Shedstore web site. During the highly successful growth years of 2006 and 2007 the Shedstore business doubled in size each year through its competitive pricing and service structure, backed by supportive leading manufacturers. Shedstore is a market force that now retails 10's of thousands of garden buildings per annum, with a double-digit multi-million pound turnover. For 2008 To build upon our past successes and growth, this year we intend to not only introduce further products (especially under our own exclusive 'Windsor' brand) and services to our range, but also strive to improve still further through investment upon our in-house technical, sales and customercare operations. We believe our existing bespoke systems are second-to-none in our sector, however we've identified areas that will offer greater functionality and reporting for the benefit of customer experience. These upgrades will become live during the second and third quarters of 2008. The management remains keen to extend the existing product range in a selective sense by introducing further garden building based products from new and existing manufacturers to enhance certain less populated categories. Our commitment remains to offer the best value, availability and customer service within our chosen trade sector. |
