10'3 x 6' (3.13x1.81m) Arrow Woodvale Metal ShedUpon certain wooden and metal products, you have the opportunity and convenience of selecting an optional installation service for your product, so long as you are within the service area as defined in the 'Delivery Service Area' section of your chosen product page. To ensure that you receive the best of service with care for your product, all installations are undertaken by experienced operatives who are familiar with the handling and construction of our products. All timber buildings whether pre-glazed or glazed upon site, have their glass or plastic glazing fitted in a 'dry' format, therefore without putty. Due to the low inherent value or DIY flat-pack nature of our metal and plastic buildings, we do not generally install these products.
Some of our manufacturers operate an installation service upon their own products. We therefore offer their erection service as a selectable option upon their individual ranges. With regard to metal buildings, installation is an option only upon Asgard products, all as other metal manufacturers offer their products for self-assembly only.
For products with the option of installation, coverage relates to the service area as defined within the 'Delivery Service Area' section of each product page. When an installation service is offered this commonly at least covers mainland England and Wales, but the service area statement upon each product clarifies this. The only current exceptions are any Scottish locations north of Edinburgh and Glasgow. If the installation service is selected and the customers's base is insufficient or not prepared prior to the installation team arriving, please see 'Failed installations' below for further details.
Payment for the installation service will be taken at the time of order placement. Fixed installation option charges are stated upon each individual product page. If it is necessary to cancel the installation service from your order prior to the installation date, please contact the Shedstore offices before the expected date. Charges will be incurred if the installation service has been initiated, such as if the erectors are already on their way. Please see 'Failed installations' below for further details.
Where an erection service is requested, the proposed building location should be firm and level, being of a paved or concrete base construction of no less than the plan size of the building itself. An appropriately solid foundation will support and increase the life span of your building. Upon smaller timber buildings, the use of 3"x2" (75 x 50mm) pressure treated timber floor bearers at 18" to 2' centres upon solid, level ground may be satisfactory, but this means of support should be considered as temporary and not equal to a good base.
The proposed position should be clear (including 600mm/2' surrounding working space) and free of impeding tree branches or planting etc. The final location should have good and unrestricted access to allow the transfer of large building sections. Most sections are too large to pass through a garage pedestrian door or through a house for example. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure full access is available for the building sections, so to avoid any abortive delivery or installation charges, therefore please check the access available. If you have any access doubts or concerns, please contact us prior to order for advice.
When the installation service is requested, it is the customer's responsibility to arrange an appropriate base for the building. If the base is not prepared or is inadequate for the building purchased and the installation service is not cancelled prior to the delivery day, the building can be left with the customer for future self-assembly. However, the initial installation service fee will be retained to cover labour/transport costs as stated in our terms and conditions, section 5. A re-visit can normally be arranged for a later date when the installation team are in the area again; however a charge will be levied for a return visit.
